State Contests
2025 State Baking Contest
Each year The Association of Connecticut Fairs sponsors baking contests open to the public at participating member fairs. There are separate contests for Junior and Adult divisions, each with a specific recipe. A Two-Crusted Apple Pie Baking contest is also held. Rules/Regulations, Judging Criteria, Entry Information and Awards/Ribbons available from the Ct State Fair Association website. Bishops Orchards is sponsoring by awarding bags of apples at the Annual State Contest in November and King Arthur Flour is sponsoring ribbons and prizes at the Annual State Contest.

2025 State Photo Contest
The theme for the annual photo contest is “Connecticut Fairs”. The photos submitted should show general scenes around our member fairs. Photos must have been taken after September 30, 2024. Photos taken after September 30, 2025 should be entered in 2026 contest. The photos entered do not have to be exhibited at any member fairs to be eligible. Contest rules available from the Ct State Fair Association website.

2025 Quilt Contest
Enter a quilt at your favorite local fair and become the winner at that fair to be eligible for the State Quilt Contest that will be held on November 8, 2025. Detailed information including Rules/Regulations, Awards, and Judging Criteria available from the Ct Fair Association website. Use the General Entry Form to enter.
Adult Quilt Contest Categories:
- Hand or machine appliqué and quilted any way by Exhibitor
- Pieced and Machine quilted by Exhibitor
- Pieced and Hand Quilted by Exhibitor
- Any method quilted by a Group (two or more)
Junior Quilt Contest Categories:
- Wall Hanging
